Former President of the United States, George W. Bush meets with Senior Partners
The former president of the United States, Mr. George W. Bush paid a visit to Shanghai in April and on April 8th, two clients of Wang Jing & Co.; Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited and Yongcheng Property Insurance Co., Ltd., held a small, private banquet for Mr. Bush in the Shanghai Pudong Shangri La Hotel. Senior partners Mr. Wang Jing and Mr. Zhong Cheng were invited to attend the banquet, and had the opportunity to speak directly to Mr. Bush and take photos with him as well. The conversations at the dinner were primarily focused on Mr. Bush's retirement life and exercise hobbies and tended to avoid discussion of any sensitive, political issues. However, there was some time reserved at the end of the evening for the guests to ask Mr. Bush questions at their own discretion and some guests raised the sensitive subjects such as why were troops sent to Iraq, what were Mr. Bush's opinions concerning selling weapons to Taiwan, and what did Mr. Bush think about the appreciation of the RMB. The former president Bush still had his political skills sharp though and answered each and every question in a smooth and diplomatic manner.
