Partners Wang Jing and Pan Lidong Attend the IPBA Conference in Singapore and Malaysia

From the 2nd to the 5th of May, Mr. Wang Jing and Pan Lidong, attended the 20th annual IPBA conference in Singapore. This year's conference was the largest ever with about 1100 Asia Pacific lawyers present as well as the former premier of Singapore, Lee Kuan Yew, and the former vice-president of the United States, Al Gore, in attendance and speaking. The conference mainly focused on laws concerning environmental protection. Former Vice-President of the United States, Al Gore, introduced the topic of global warming and the importance and urgency of worldwide environmental protection, calling on the attending lawyers to take an active role in environmental protection.
During and after the conference, Mr. Wang Jing and Pan Lidong had the chance to meet and communicate with lawyers working in local law firms as well as international law firms in Singapore (including 3 of the biggest local law firms). Later, they also visited these famous law firms, including firms who are experts in maritime and admiralty cases. Mr. Wang and Mr. Pan also met and spoke with the legal counsel of various famous companies, such as Itochu.
Then on the 6th of May, Mr. Wang and Mr. Pan went to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to attend the "Group Meeting on Dispute Settlement" which was also held by IPBA. Many expert lawyers, judges, and arbitrators from ASEAN countries attended the conference. During the meeting, Mr. Wang and Mr. Pan visited AZMI & Associates Law Firm, our member firm from the Terralex network, to discuss possible business cooperation and opportunities with their China Department.
The trip to Singapore and Malaysia greatly deepened the cooperation and association between this firm and the lawyers of the Asia-Pacific area. The increasing powerful economy of China brings more and more attention to the countries and businesses based in the Asia-Pacific area. As international firms show great interest in acquiring customers and business in China, we will continue our wiliness to communicate with lawyers from around the world and to provide a high level of professional services.
