Fuzhou Office Providing Legal Services on Shipbuilding and Finance of 6x82000DWT Bulk Carriers for a Local Leading Shipowner

Recently, our Fuzhou Office provided whole-journey legal services with respect to the new shipbuilding of 6x82000dwt bulk carriers, providing draft of the shipbuilding contract, bank financing, commerical negotiation and the afterwards for a local leading shipowner in Fujian area.
Along with the thorough recovery of Chinese economy and the sustainable increase of global business, shipowners in China, especially in Fujian region, proceed to build new ships or purchase ships actively. Moreover, Chinese government approved the Plan on Adjusting and Revitalizing the Ship Industry in February 2009, stipulating that all relevant banks shall guarantee that loans granted to ship enterprises as operating capital required for completion of ships under building and performance of valid shipbuilding contracts should be paid in time and in full amount; renew the loans granted to ship enterprises in case ship-owners fail to make delivery on schedule; strengthen the cooperation between banks and enterprises, provide financing support under the pledge of ships under building; encourage ship enterprises which meet the prescribed conditions of IPO and issue bonds, and accelerate the establishment of investment funds for the ship industry.
Further, in May 2010, Chinese government approved the Several Opinions of the State Council of the PRC on Supporting Fujian Province to Accelerate the Building of the Economic Zone on the West Coast of the Taiwan Straits, granting Fujian province the policy to put Taiwan in the priority and offering facility and support for promoting development of the ship maintenance and construction industry in Fujian.
