    Experience:
    Mr. Chen from 1991 to 2001 worked for the Faculty of Law of Shantou University, lecturing on international law and maritime law, while also training with a law firm in Shantou. In 2001 he joined Wang Jing & Co., and from December 2001 to October 2002, was in charge of the Firm's correspondent office in Tianjin. Mr. Chen has worked at Wang Jing & Co.'s Shanghai office since April 2006, and became partner in January 2008.
     
    Mr. Chen has for many years been dedicated to the study of maritime and trade law and settling the disputes settlement thereof. He has co-authored two textbooks, entitled Maritime Law and Research on International Commercial Law, and has spoken at various seminars in mainland China and Hong Kong.
     
    Mr. Chen's current practice focuses on general corporate and commercial matters, as well as litigation and non-litigation matters on banking and international trade. Mr. Chen provides legal services on commercial contracts risk control and disputes resolution to Chinese and foreign production and trade companies; assists foreign insurance companies to handle various categories of commercial and liability insurance claims brought in China; and provides legal services to foreign banks on compliance in China, international settlements and finance. Also he has supervised a number of projects related to Foreign Direct Investment in the Shanghai region, including full involvement in the major project of establishment of the Pudong International Airport Western Cargo Terminal.
     
    Mr. Chen is also highly respected for his understanding of ship building contracts and ship finance transactions under PRC law. In recent years, he advised foreign ship owners on shipbuilding contracts for more than 20 vessels. He also has represented both shipyards and shipowners in ship finance projects, including one particular project for a foreign bank where the credit line amounted to over USD 200 million.
